SCHOLARSHIP POLICY FALL 2023

Following revised scholarship policy for Fall 2023 is effective from October 16, 2023.

The kin of alumni/ae and existing participants (brother, sister, husband, wife, son and daughter) will be awarded 10% kinship scholarship in all programs of the University.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDNETS OF SOS VILLAGE:

Substantial waiver in tuition fee will be awarded for all students of SOS village.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR FEMALE APPLICANTS:

10% additional allowance will be granted to female applicants of LLB program.

SPORTSMEN SCHOLARSHIP:

Outstanding sportsmen/women will be awarded scholarship as per the policy.

RULES GOVERNING SCHOLARSHIPS:

a) Scholarship will be paid to supplement tuition fee only. All other charges (where applicable) will be paid by the student.

b) Student can avail only one scholarship. In case a student is eligible for more than one scholarship offered by GIU , the one with highest amount will be awarded.

c) It is mandatory for every scholarship holder to finish his/ her enrolled program in the prescribed minimum duration of the program. No extension of award will be provided beyond the standard duration of the course/degree.

d) For the entitlement of sportman/women scholarship, candidate must have certificate from concerned department/sports organization. Trial test will be conducted by GIU sports committee to determine the eligibility and percentage of the scholarship.

Attendance falls below 75%.

The GPA/CGPA falls below the prescribed limit as mentioned in each clause.

The student gets "F" grade in any subject.

If student is involved in any disciplinary case i.e involvement in political, unethical and anti-state activities etc.

f) The restrictions mentioned in clause "e (i) & (ii)" will be removed as soon as the student improves in the forthcoming semester.

g) On the recommendation of committee, competent authority will approve the continuation/ reduction in scholarship on case to case basis (when required).
